Next meeting tomorrow at 11 O'Clock in the Third Year/Book Binding Studio. Have a think about any ideas/concepts/names/themes/etc for the shows. We should aim to create a rough draft of proposals for sponsorship and funding.

Next Meeting

We'll meet again on Wednesday at 11 O' Clock in the third year studio/the book binding room. We'll discuss finance and the Easter Fair, we should also think about making the payment for the deposit on the venue.

Option A






so these are the photos from The Rag Factory (option a) the venue for the graphics only show. The montage is the larger room that has stairs to another smaller room, ideal for screenings. The all white room is narrower but the same length as the large room. There are two sets of archway doors that connect the two rooms.

Option B



Footage from last years Illustration show which was held at the Nicholls and Clark building (Option B). The video shows only a portion of the actual building but it is the portion that has been proposed for graphic design.

Graduate Show Options

Option A:
Individual show at the Rag Factory: 16-18 Heanage Street, (just off Brick Lane)
5th - 11th July, private view Thursday 8th July.
£2,900 for one week.
2 large rooms, plus 1 smaller screening room.
Close proximity to Free Range Events.

Option B:
Collective show with Illustration and 3D courses at Nicholls and Clark building: Shoreditch highstreet. (venue includes 3 large shopfronts).
Space to be evenly distributed between the courses, including shopfronts. (approximately 10 rooms).
4th - 14th July, private view Thursday 8th July.
£5,500 for 10 days. cost to be divided relatively between course sizes (estimate: £2,000)
close proximity to Brick Lane and Liverpool Street station.

EASTER FAIR

The Illustration course have also arranged a similar fundraising event. Rather than attempt to compete with them it has been decided we will combine with them instead. The fair will take place throughout Thursday in the Student Union at Camberwell. Advertising and promotion is underway.

Easter Fair

I've emailed Tom Coombs (Camberwell SU bar manager) asking for the use of the bar space on the 16th of this month for the easter fair. Hopefully should get a quick response.

Venue Viewing

Notes taken from monday March first meeting.
Questions that need to be asked/things to bear in mind when visiting possible venues.

* 1 week running time
*Setting up/packing down time.
*Private view thursday evening.
*Design of the grad show
*Lighting and any other necessary costs - are these extra/included/available?
*Projectors - is there space for projecting films? Projector included/need to supply ourselves?
*Are there public access restrictions?
*Is insurance included or an additional cost?

For anyone wishing to view possible locations there'll be a group meeting outside The Rag Factory, just off Brick Lane on Heanage Street, for a viewing at 9am on wednesday morning.
